The Christmas Season

I've pretty much conceded the fact that I'm not going to be regularly blogging any more.  There are a few different reasons for that, some of which I discussed in a post a few months ago.

However, I still plan to update pictures occasionally, and I just may write a few things here and there if the mood strikes me. :)

These are some pictures from December.  Hope you enjoy them!

We visited Santa at Bass Pro in Grapevine. Denver had a similar experience last year. He's not into the whole Santa thing. :)

October Round-up

We had lots of fun in October. Here are a few highlights...

Family visit to Homestead Farms

We have gone to the same small, local, family farm for two years in a row now. They have a great little pumpkin patch, goats, chickens, a playground, and best of all... it's FREE! :)

Halloween

For Halloween this year, Denver dressed as Frodo from The Lord of the Rings.  We went to our neighborhood Halloween party the Saturday before Halloween, and then he went trick or treating for the first time this past Wednesday. He was certainly a cute little hobbit. In fact, he won the costume contest for his age group at our neighborhood party. What a champ!

it got chilly, so Frodo had to put on his jacket and traditional Hobbit footwear... Nike Shox

He was a perfect little Frodo, wouldn't you say?

Meeting Santa

Did you know that having your picture taken with Santa at the average mall in Ft. Worth costs at least $25?!  That's the minimum you're allowed to spend if you want your child's picture taken with Santa. And you have to buy the pictures they take; you're not allowed to bring your own camera.

Well... this year I did a little research and found out that Bass Pro Shops has a wonderful winter wonderland set up in their store all of December.  Pictures with Santa are free, we were allowed to use our own camera, and they have crafts and Christmas activities for the whole family set up around the store.

We had so much fun. I cannot say enough good things about our day at Bass Pro. Here are a few of the memories we made...

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. And of course... God bless Texas.

Up Up and Away...

Happy Halloween!

I'd say these two are much cuter than the original, wouldn't you? :)

Denver was certainly very popular at our church's Fall Fest last night. He wandered around, from booth to booth, like such a big boy. Many people commented on how independent he is becoming. I know they're right, and I'm not ready yet!

I'm glad that my independent boy still loves his mommy.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

A Weekend at the Lake

Every year for the 4th of July, my family gets together at Tablerock Lake near Branson, Missouri. This was Denver's inaugural visit (not counting his trip last year in-utero).

Lots of fun had by all.

with my cousin Megan

a picture is worth a thousand words... and i can't come up with any words for this one. it speaks for itself

current favorite fruit... peaches

I think Denver ate his body weight in peas during this trip

his new favorite sport... "cooler-diving," where he digs in coolers for ice until his hands and face are freezing cold... then he goes back for more.
